URBANA BOULDERS MURAL

During the early months of the pandemic, the bouldering gym I worked at (Urbana Boulders) was shut down. During that time, I was unemployed and we were brainstorming ideas for adding some brightness to the gym for people to look forward to when things opened back up. This climb-able mural is the result of that! Priming the beat-up wall and sealing the finished work with a very durable exterior coat was key— it gets a lot of love now with climbers climbing on the mural wall all the time. EXTERIOR MURAL 2019
Urbana Boulders is located in an industrial lot next to a busy street, so we wanted something eye-catching on the exterior to make the building stand out to people driving by. The wall is now a popular spot for people to stop and take photos in front of (graduation, engagement, etc.) which helps drive more business and engages the community.

This is one illustration I did for the bouldering competition hosted at the gym. We printed it on t-shirts, signage, and digital advertising.
